Retinue of Princess Mhigo Ala

The Arcane Empire of Duras boasts no shortage of heroes, from dragon slaying knights to wizards capable of shifting the tides of battle with a single spell. It is one of these last that the Retinue serves, a woman whose name rests on all Durasian lips - Princess Mhigo Ala. A sorceress beyond compare outside the marbled halls of Ensign or the alabaster spires of the Vennican order, the legend of Mhigo Ala and her Retinue is one of countless adventures, exalted good, and universal glory. The Retinue itself is so large as to qualify as a small army on its own, numbering almost five hundred fighting men and women spread every race and class and requiring countless more as support for the front line soldiers. Because of its massive size, the Retinue very rarely marches as a single force, though when it does it is truly a sight to behold. Instead, the Retinue is broken down into five "companies" of approximately a hundred soldiers answering to one of the Princess' lieutenants, and each company is further organized into five "troupes" which chooses its own name elects its own leader, and each troupe breaks down into "teams" of five or six adventurers who are ultimately responsible for themselves. The one exception to this is the Retinue's "Fresh Company" which consists of newly minted adventurers and very rarely consists of more than a few dozen at a time. As this is where the future heroes of the Retinue cut their teeth and learn their footing, Princess Mhigo's favored lieutenant and closest companion commands Fresh Company - the legendary Roatan Hassan.
