Quinn
Physically powerful, magically gifted, and numerous beyond counting, the shapeshifting Quinn are the scourge of the realms.
Appearing natively as pale, hairless, almost transparent humanoids with only the vaguest outline of facial features, the Quinn are capable of mimicking any other sapient lifeform that they've ever seen. This ability not only transforms the obvious physical characteristics such as hair, eyes, and skintone but copies everything down to the subject's voice and even the scent of their magic making detection of a Quinn spy all but impossible.
Hailing from a homeworld somewhere deep within the aether, the Quinn are a culture of conquerors taking each new realm they happen across with a mix of subterfuge and brute force before establishing a colony and moving on to the next.
It was the Quinn who drove the Dwarves, Gnomes, and Halflings from their homeworld of Stoneholme, banished the warhordes of Orcus into the aether, and battled even the mighty Durasian Empire to a standstill on Catalainia.
A very few Quinn managed to sneak past the Great Gate before it was sealed, dividing Emeriss from Catalainia. While some of their descendants maintain loyalty to their distant cousins and their interstellar empire, most simply wish to live their lives and all guard their identities closely for fear of the angry mobs and summary, gruesome execution that would follow the revelation of their true nature.
