Umay Annihilation
The Umay Annihilation was the nuclear and bombardment exchange that occurred on Umay directly following the destruction of Tengri Relay and The Separation. The exchange lead to Umay's atmosphere catching fire and surrounding the planet in a global firestorm, the result of which sterilized the planet.
Umay was then covered in a layer of soot and ash that blocked sunlight until 43 Pos-S, making any plant growth impossible. LUO became dangerous for traveling craft due to debris of ships and ejecta created from bombardment. While the immediate effects were those living on the planet, the resulting absence of any agricultural production led to mass starvation and conflicts over food that drastically increased the death toll of The Separation.
