Created by OtherFireAngel   Urban fantasy usually means "What if the cities of Earth were home to secret magical beings?" I've taken that concept and changed it, asking instead "What if a world where magic is common encountered the challenges of living in a very urban society?" I've also taken that idea to an extreme often found in science fiction, where every inhabitable space is crammed with people due to a high population, but instead of relying on technology to solve issues, they rely on magic. All magic comes with a price, and in this case the price of using such heavy duty magic is that it seeps into the uninhabitable areas of the world and creates monsters out of the waste generated by the population. Anywhere that borders on a wasteland is either well protected, or a slum city.   Goal: I want to make a fantasy world that I can use to play D&D games. Elevator Pitch: A fantasy world where population size has forced all inhabitable areas to be covered in skyscraper cities, but the cost of maintaining the population is the creation of polluted horrors in the uninhabitable wastelands.
