Elysium

Millenia ago the world was ruled by a great race of eternal ancient tyrants. They revelled in a land of eternal stillness and ruled over great forest of grey spires. Little to no record remains of the tyrants’ rule before the war. All that is known is that three lords found a great source of power beneath the land and rallied the lesser races behind their banners starting a war to end the tyrants and usher in an age of light. Their names have long been lost to history but it is said that with the help of a traitor they managed to overthrow the ancients and purge them from this land.   Legend says that over the ruins of the ancient forests they built a new civilisation. Having assumed the mantle of gods they took upon themselves to shepherd their followers and lead them on to the light. As the decades turned to centuries and the centuries to millenia the gods would seclude themselves from the world of man making fewer and fewer appearances in front of their people until one day a cataclysm struck that wiped the Gods’ civilisation from existence. With time the land healed and the age of mortals began.
