Prudence Fairbanks

The female head of the Merchant's Guild. Elvish, in her middle years. Known for her even temper, respected for her wisdom and fairness, she has ruled the Merchant's Guild for the past three decades. There are those who would like to get rid of her and install someone who would ensure more profit came to the Merchants, but Elves live a long time and many remember the trade wars which preceeded her appointment as Director of Trade so, for now, those who would disagree with her do so in private. She is known as fair, but not as terribly compassionate. Those who violate the trade agreements find themselves swiftly with nothing to trade, being audited far more thoroughly than they would like, or, on some occasions, finding themselves exiled. She is very aware how delicate this network of trade is and values the good of the whole over that of the individual. She, somewhat unexpectedly, has a great sense of humour and a fear of spiders.
