Amygdiary (a-migg-die-ah-ree)

A curious book often sought out by archmages and explorers; by spending time and suffusing a part of your essence with the book (usually blood or magic,) you can maintain a psychic link for as long as you're in the same plane of existence, there's space remaining in the book and no other individual overwrites the link. Once this link is established, it collates and compiles your active thoughts into the book, allowing you to have a physical record without having to expend the time to write it out manually and risking the loss of certain details.   The size can vary and is usually indicative of how much can be stored in a book, with the most common variants being sold being capable of holding 1 year's worth of memories and appearing to be a roughly 400 page A5 book. Inside, each day is marked separately for ease of finding thoughts, although extra headings on sections can be made by the linked individual should they will it. (for example a shopping list could be considered of extra importance and marked as such.) The linked individual can also open the book whilst thinking about specific topics or dates and it will open to the relevant page. Other individuals reading the book will have to search through manually.   Thoughts within the book may be later formatted, encoded or removed by the linked individual for easier reading of others or to reduce risk of private thoughts being found. This can provide more space and improves the longevity of the book should you wish to add more by freeing up additional days worth of pages. Once the linked individual is happy with the state of the book, they may will it to become inert, at which point it can no longer be edited and will magically resist attempts to tamper with the information within. This will also be the case should an individual leave the plane the book is in or die, though in these instances the connection can be restored should they return.   If another individual links to the amygdiary before it becomes finalised, the book's text will overwrite the new memories on top of the old ones. The new user may also wipe the previous user's entries but may not edit them.
