The Demon of Time

"I tell you, our wives keep inventing more and more ludicrous tales as the days pass. It seems that they have become bored after all"   "It seems so. But with everything thats been happening as of late, i somewhat think that Maranis may be the next to come."   "Now don't be so pessimistic my friend. Aurelian is on our side. We will win this war, both against those humans and also against these deranged cultists"   Two Argonite soldiers discussing about Maranis, the demon of time
When their husbands ride to war, Argonite wives usually tell tales amongst themselves. Despite being also part of the war effort and fighting on the frontlines, Argonite women still tell tales to each other whenever they get the chance. Amongst many of these tales, one tale stands out as the most blood chilling one. The tale of Maranis, a demonic abomination that travels through time to do brutal acts such as murdering indiscriminately, sacrificing people, haunting the lands and everything else that his kin do   It is said that Maranis was originally a great hero, one that fought against demonkind during the war of the ancients when Elladia was attacked by the destroyer himself. Many also point to him as one of the champions mentioned in The Saviours Tale. It is not known how he became like this however. Some say that he was abducted and tortured till he caved in to the offers of the destroyer. Others say that he corrupted himself and ascended to become a champion of the destroyer   What is certain is that Maranis was changed and he began a rampage across time. It is said that when the end times of Elladia come near, Maranis will ride out in his true incarnation, with the experience and strength of all his manifestations across all the timelines. He will then aid the destroyer in fulfilling his dream, either destroying or enslaving Elladia   Whilst dismissed as a simple tale by many, it may have some crucial information for the upcoming war against the breaker. A War in which Maranis will return
