Tomb of Pensol Ducaridi

Over 14,000 years ago, an Elven Lord by the name of Pensol Ducaridi rules the area now known as the Dragon Spire Mountains. He was feared by all of his subjects, for they thought that he was able to speak with the old Gods and would destroy them if they did not follow him.    During the last 1,000 years of his life, he instructed his followers to build him a final resting place worthy of a God as he would still rule over them even in death. What his people did not know was that he was preparing himself to become a Lich.

Demographics

Currently, the Tomb is home to numerous scorpions, both giant and normal sized. Thousands of spiders, cobras and vipers. Numerous skeletons and zombies that help guard the tomb in the afterlife.

Defences

Many of the vases and chests throughout the tomb are guarded by cobras and vipers that are held in stasis until the containers seals are broken. Zombies are held in cabinets to protect the contents if the doors are opened. One room has 4 armored skeletons standing guard at the entrance to the final room.

History

Built by a city of terrified elves to house the remains of their Elven Lord.

Points of interest

Alter Room

The room contains an alter, in the shape of a blooming rose, on the northern wall. Surrounding it are silver plates with coins and various gems worth roughly 300gp. On either side of the alter, tapestries hang with the symbols of stag antlers covered in blooming roses and thorns.

Store Room

There are 2 shelves on the north wall with 5 metal boxes, about 6"x2", filled with herbs. There is also a side table with paper and ink, sealed in a glass bottle next to a few notes in a long forgotten language. On the east side of the room are 2 book shelves. One has glass and clay jars holding various liquids and powders. The other has comtainers of metal and clay that hold; chunks of bone, crystals, cinders, grains, leaves, ash and strips of hide. The west and south sides have wooden crates filled with dried meats and fruits.

Scribes Room

Upon entering the room, there is an open wooden barrel with sticks standing in it and a bookshelf with scrolls on the east wall. The scrolls are written in the same language from the store room. The south wall has a metal chest with temple documents and "holy" scrolls. At the west, sits a skeleton in tattered robes. On the desk are some scrolls, dried up inkwell, quills a silver mug and a pair of eye glasses.

Antechamber

Directly in front, on the west wall, is a 9' statue of an elf in armor. Large 12', ornate double door to the south and each corner has an alcove with an armored figure in them.

Burial Chamber

6 square colums of marble flank the walls on the east and west with 4 sarcophagi between them. At the south end in an elaborate sarcophagus, carved with a relief of roses and a pair of stag horns adorn the top. Above it, on the wall is a large glass and marble mosaic of a beautiful Drow woman in red leather and a dark red cape surrounded by red roses and a large black stag.

Architecture

The floors throughout are highly polished red and black marble. Every 10' is a 2'x3'x1' alcove, with it's center at eye level. These alcoves give off a yellow glow, allowing light to radiate evenly throughout. The alcoves are otherwise empty with the exception to ancient elven runes carved within them.
