Nik Bolad is a trade town, and as such, sees a wide variety of races, creed, and classes filter in and out of its bounds. However, its permanent population can be broken down approximately as follows:
43% Human, 30% Elf, 12% Half-Elf, 7% Halfling, 5% Gnome, 3% Other Races

Government

Nik Bolad is governed by the Thyrinthel, whom have been its plutarchs for several generations. As the current plutarchs, the Thyrinthels have a near total monopoly on all of Nik Bolad's trade industries and own the majority of the land that Nik Bolad is built on.

Defences

While it lacks a formal army, Nik Bolad does maintain a moderate force of 100 trained city guards that keep the peace within the city. These guardsmen, recognizable by their copper clasp emblazoned with stylized oak, are standard equipped with high quality leathers, shortswords, light crossbows, and dagger, though many supplement this with their own equipment. Nik Bolad produces some of the finest furs, leathers, meads, and smoked meats in all of Corelliach. which are then harvested and refined to be sold and shipped to both the other settlements of Corelliach and ports all over Elinai.

Geography

Nik Bolad is situated toward the southeast of Corelliach within the Maple Glade, a dense maple and oak forest of ancient trees, verdant grasses, and large forest beasts. Only a single road leads in and out of Nik Bolad, and due to it being nearly surrounded by the Maple Glade, maintains a rural, country feel, despite its moderate urban size.

Natural Resources

Nik Bolad has an abundance of quality lumber that comes from the surrounding glade of trees, as well its arboretums where it grows more exotic flora. In addition to its lumber, Nik Bolad is well known for its fine furs. The Maple Glade is teeming with wildlife that spreads far into the forest, providing ample places for the tradesmen of Nik Bolad to hunt them for their meats and pelts. Bears, deer, hares, and wolves are all plentiful near Nik Bolad, as well as a large population of honey bees and bee farms.
