Nahestubo

Nahestubo also has both clans represented, and acts as an outlook for the region; the height of the Waypoint makes it easy to see the region as a whole, and the duty is taken seriously. They keep an eye out for both inside and outside the region, being the only Waypoint stationed close enough to explore/see the mountainside that connects the Northern Wastes to the Frozen Seas. Both Regional Clans live and work here.

Culture

Coming of Age ceremony Much more gentle. To show that they are ready, or to be deemed ready to take on the hunting ceremony, individuals travel with a single partner/patron to the top of the mountain, to the spot where you can see the world bend. There’s a specific path that winds through the mountains, that ‘visits’ caves and patches of plenty and patches of few, with dangers and puzzles not told to the young for fear of spoiling it. They travel the path with their patron, who watches and sees and notes down how they are until they reach the summit. From there, they take an item which was given and place/plant it in the area. They can go whenever they are ready, and if there are multiples of them they each go a ‘day’ apart from each other; this way it is harder for groups to form, but not impossible. The idea, much like the actual test, has less to do with the goal and more to do with what you learn while you are getting there. But generally, if you have made it to the top you will be deemed ready. If you are unable to make it to the top for any reason, there are exit ‘points’ along the mountainside ready for use. There is great honor in quitting when you are not ready, because it means you understand yourself and your limitations, and when you are ready to try again, you will know yourself better.

Agriculture & Industry

In Nahestubo, Agriculture mainly consists of plant-based farming. They primarily cultivate cave polyps, algae barnacles, and frost-moss, although some undergrounders found cave forests and very few began to gather and feed creatures like cave crabs and parrotfish. A few farms managed to cultivate bioluminescent life such as underground veins of hydroid and various fungi.

Education

There are two basic ways of education among the Uma, and those of this Waypoint are no different: Games and preperation for the coming of age ceremony. The Coming of Age Ceremony is a movement into being fully able to support and help the community, and the games create connection, competition, and healthy physical/mental/emotional development among the youngsters (although games are not limited to cubs, they are the primary way to education among the Uma).   Games: Steal The Win - A game like capture the flag and Poker, where a group of two or three go up against an opposing group of two or three, each one presents goods in the form of physical or favor, makes a bet on how long it’ll take the other to succeed at the task, then hides the loot alongside a Resonant Stone linked to the other party. First one to find the loot and claim victory wins both piles. Bonus points if you can convincingly cheat or bluff your opponents without the use of violence. Rock-Roll - Ride a boulder down the mountain. Be the first one to make a splash in the river at the bottom without ever having fallen off and you win. Rock-Bounce - Smooth pebbles and throw them in the air, hitting them with your tailfins to launch them up the mountain. Whoever hits the farthest/racks up points for distance wins.   Coming of Age ceremony Much more gentle. Legislative Body
Court of law (rules, regulations) can be decided one of two ways; diplomatic majority vote, which must be unanimously responded to by *overseeing council and obeyed on penalty of theft and bludgeoning, or it can be taken to **The Floor.
Judicial Body
*The overseeing council is created per ruling and dissolves immediately after all business has been concluded. Members are selected through majority trial, AKA if majority wants the members to be decided by king-of-the-hill trial or if majority votes that members will be decided by a race in the order that they place, etc. Individuals can choose to participate every single time, abstain, or the entire Waypoint can be involved, but the council only has five seats that must be taken, and so only top five contenders will be able to make a response. **The Floor was rumored to have been set into place by Sruhnahe himself, a large flat arena of stone set into the mountainside. If a vote has to be taken to The Floor, all contenders (those that want to fight for the rule to go their way) engage in a no-rules free-for-all brawl, last one standing is final judgement on the rule, let the storm be on their head. One challenge may be issued from each contender (including the Last One Standing) if needed for a one-on-one fight, but if the contender is beaten a second time then his voice is muted and he has no more say. This goes on until each challenge is satisfied or until there are no more challenges issued. Any private challenges offered after the ruling is considered of great dishonor, and can get you kicked from the Waypoint or, in some cases, marked as a punching bag for the rest of the waypoint.
Executive Body
*See Overseeing Council and The Floor; The community is responsible for enforcing the laws on each other, and the one responsible for how the rule works in the system is the one who made the final ruleling. If it causes suffering to the community, the idea of "The Storm be on thier head" means the community reserves the right to reverse the rule and kick out the one responsible, forcing him to live at the highest point on the mountain where the storms, when they sweep through, are the most severe (thus, the storms are literally on thier head, alongside the storm of the community)
