Introduction

Welcome to the End ...

The world seems to spiral faster and faster each day to utter annihilation. Whether we destroy ourselves or something completely out of our control takes the initiative, it’s coming. But despite that grizzly reality, there’s still hope. Humanity is frustratingly resilient, we’re kind of like cockroaches in the sense that it’ll take a whole lot more than a giant boot to get rid of us. As has been the fixation of novelists and artists across the century I wonder what life after the end will bring. Will we slowly die off? Or will we band together and rebuild society amidst the doom of the apocalypse.

In this newest Homebrew campaign of mine you will play adventurers and heroes across a century of near-future post-apocalyptic time. I’m so excited to share this brainchild of mine with you and I hope you enjoy playing in this world as much as I have enjoyed preparing it for you. So enough said! Let’s get into it.

In the year 2026

The English-German particle Accelerator nicknamed DUSY accidentally discovered a new element. Taking the one-hundred and thirty-third slot on the periodic table the element was extremely powerful. Able to store and release incredible energy without changing the structure of the atom. Element 133 quickly changed the face of the tech and chemistry industries.

The global revolution was cut short though as astronomers made a horrible discovery. The Apohpis Astroid which had been previously calculated to pass harmlessly past Earth was now on a direct collision course. An asteroid the size of Texas was going to collide just above the Midwestern United States, but the effects would be felt worldwide. With only weeks to react, the newly formed Global Defense Organization pooled the resources of the nations of the world and began to build missiles powered by Element 133 to collide with Apophis and reduce it to space rubble.

We thought it worked, we really did. The world celebrated and then the creatures arrived …
