Eler Terenep

Eler Terenep was an Seler Priest, widely credited as being the person responsible for Selerin's departure from Eserisian Supradia as well as the formation of the Seler Independent Temple.

Personal history

Eler was born on the 39^th Day of the Month of Ersola, 1245 in Mevel, then part of Eseris, four years before the west of Eseris rebelled to form Selerin. It should come as no surprise then that, with her being raised in the aftermath of Selerin's independence, she grew up with a deep distrust of Eseris. At the time, the national religion of Selerin was still Eserisian Supradia (the centralised form of Supradia which follows the Supradian High Priest). While she followed the Supradian Gods, she didn't agree with following Eserisian priests. Several incidents with the Eserisian Clergy from her teenhood to her early twenties culminated in her excommunication from Supradia. She was apparently quite happy about this and began seeking out other excommunicated Supradians, and then other Selers. within eight years, she had a small sect of about 450 followers. She called it the Seler Independent Temple. Over time, it gained more traction, and played a key part in affecting Seler opinions towards the Eserisian Clergy. Eventually, all political power the clergy had over Selerin was removed, and a few years after that the Seler Independent Temple became more popular than Eserisian Supradia. She died in 1292.
