Lehmann ox seems like an average gnome, but he was one for exploring. Not in the sense of the academic field. Like most of his kind, he wanted to see the world. Go to places that no one has ever been. So he became an archaeologist with the underlying idea. That he would go do it for the coming adventurers. Know adventurers or consider meathead or just the muscle to get the goal of the project. That is a society saw at the time
During one of his digs, he kept hearing Thunder out in the distance. It seemed very odd though that he kept hearing it but saw no clouds or the storm. That never rolled over on him. so he talks to local Gnomes and they said. That there's this weird mountain range where it never stops raining, thundering and lightning. No one goes there because the lighting unpredictable and hits the ground often and constantly. Well, Lehman saw this as his chance to go exploring. He's dug up a couple of ancient cities explore a few ruins but never once has he went to an area of the world. That no one ever been to. He was excited about the chance to see something new.
So he packed his stuff then follow the sound only took him about a couple of hours to reach it. What he saw was amazing a mountain range stone with a purple hue. Lightning just cracking down hitting the ground left and right. Off in the distance, he could see something glowing a blue hue. He decided to just watch lightning another that doesn't seem to hit anywhere that doesn't have the purple stones. So they must be tracking the lightning somehow. Spent the next couple of weeks calculating the lightning. To see if there is any pattern. There wasn't much of a pattern but they seemed to favor higher points. versus the lower point and did strike the same place more than once. So when he figured out all the low points he decided to gamble and ran to the glow.
He got to the glow. To find out it was a Bush full of pretty Flowers. The Flowers were dark blue and how they that light blue glow around them. Thought it was interesting. He put his gloves on and picked one of the Flowers and put it into a pouch. Then he went into The Cave and started to explore around he saw lots of interesting things but the biggest one was he found a lavender looking ore. Which he decided to take some and he found out that it was had electrically charged. So when he hit it with his hammer. The hammer set a big spark nearly scorching his hair. Eventually, he worked out a way to get it. and made his way back Home.
He eventually moved up there with a few curious minds and started a small town. He called Fulmin working on the mysteries of this Thunder Plum Mountains. The more discover they made. The bigger the town became eventually turning into a city. Which then evolved into the capital of Odic. which all started from his discovery

He was treated a little bit like an outcast because he never invented or created or worked on anything. For half his life. It was until the day he discovered Flash metal. That everyone decided that he was worth something. So for half his life he was treated as barely anything but at least he was better than some stupid adventurer. or at least that's what the society was treating him like.
