History of the Drek

The current history of the Dragonborn race and it's predecessors, the Drek.

History of the Drek:

Origin

The main story spread around for the origin of the Drek lays with the Gods and their machinations. While it is unknown which God created the army, it is well known which god used it to assault the known races of the world. Jun-dir, the old god of Deception led the combined forces of Drek and Dragons against the mortal races for the humiliation they caused him in the war against the God-King.   The Drek when first created stood 10ft tall, stocky and with a middling intelligence. But has the power necessary to take on multiple Goliaths at once in single combat. Due to this, they were used as front-line fighters for the god's plans and saw the majority of the fighting. Their Dragon overlords used them to destroy and burn everything to the ground, leaving no survivors to tell their tales.   In the early years of their creation around the year of 1005, they seized the land of Drekarum from the Dragonborn Theocracy and therefore they adopted this name as a badge of honour. Their destruction at the battle of Holz Ridge led to their large scale desertion from the pretender gods army, and he punished them with the curse of mortals, forming them into the Dragonborn as they are known today. Few true Drek remains today due to their large scale extinction and hunting after the 1st Dragon war. But when encountered today they are truly formidable.

Current History

the current history of the Drek is held by the Dragonborn, once the war was concluded their race flocked back to the colonies that they had sieged and built a small kingdom to call home. Adapting to their new surroundings and new found intellect and magic, they quickly turned the jungle around them into their own settlements and farmland. They thrive wherever they can, but need reinforcing with trade that they can occasionally gather from nearby tribes or nations that are still on rocky terms even to this very day.
