Fir'Tan's Scar Physical / Metaphysical Law in Eldris | World Anvil

Fir'Tan's Scar

"Once, this land was fertile and beautiful, covered in trees and rivers. Flowers and plants grew here that are now gone from this world. The true tree once lived here, protected by our ancestors. And then... he came..." - Vivilla Skysinger
Fir'Tan's scar is the result of a draconic ritual gone awry and the reason the Dwarves began culling dragons from Eldris. The Sky Drake's rebellion lured the task force of dragons sent to capture him to the Great Tree, Terra's Heart. Here, he and his rebels drew upon the latent magic of the tree and all the roots touched in one massive strike against the Draconic Empire.   When the dust settled, barren stone was all that remained. Terra's heart stood changed, blackened and twisted, reaching for the sky as if clawing in pain. The burning bodies of the ritualists and the strike force littered the battlefield. Fir'Tan remained standing in front of The Heart. Pure white scales turned black, wings tattered and torn, wounds bare to the world, and a glowing red light burning deep in the now vacant eye socket. Fir'Tan used the life force to become corrupt creature of death, an abomination even Amynd could not forgive. And for this... the dragons would fall.

Manifestation

Fir'Tan's Scar is a desolated area of Berdea, located deep in the desert. it runs along the northern span of the mountains, down to the mid point. It is a desolate wasteland comprised of rugged coarse stone formations, unworn by the maelstroms of sand over centuries. The stone has a rough texture to the touch, capable of causing abrasions to flesh if enough pressure is applied when touching it.   The bones of dragons litter the stones, strewn about the wasteland like a graveyard. This is where dragons go to die. Among the stone spires, looking closely enough, smooth mounds of a stoney soil can be picked out, just tall enough to bare a large hole down to the cavernous dwellings of the Invertus who call this place home out of necessity.
