The Fey Moon Festival

History

The druids of the Selenar Wood are an ancient people who helped to found the Galvii' Kingdom and who first began to worship the Yil'enoth Tree. The importance of the festival is mostly linked in an arcane nature with the druids, who, during the dual eclipse, become stronger. During this period, the feywild is also closer to the world of Eldrais, allowing travel between planes easier. It's common for the creatures of the feywild to cross the border, causing all sorts of mayhem and mischief.

Execution

The druids which celebrate the Fey Moon Festival usually paint their bodies in the colors of the surrounding nature, sticking flowers to them with the sap of the Yil'enoth Tree. This symbolizes the Titan Seed who grew the Gods and Goddesses from the ground and the nature which holds them all together.
The druids also adorn themselves in colorful robes which are loose fitting and can be worn in any matter of ways but usually convey some sort of natural pattern or material.  The first day of the festival is spent preparing, which constitutes as the community part of the festival. The bringing together of the festivities is to bring together those participating. The day of the twin eclipse is spent observing, dancing and drinking. The druids welcome the fey into the material plane, as the twin moon eclipse opens the gate to allow the fey more easily into the material plane. Finally, the rest of the week is spent eating and dancing around the Yil'enoth Tree.

Components and tools

The druids which pilgrimage to the Yil'enoth Tree often leave offerings to the fey wild to welcome in the mischief of the twin moons.

Participants

The Archdruid  leads the ceremonies, although not particularly structured. The Archdruid gives a small speech as the countdown to the eclipse begins. The Archdruid then leads the eating and drinking of the first bites and sips.

Observance

Moon druids from around Idune gather on the twin full moons, also known as the Fey Moons, Tel' Shee Nodel in Elvish.
