Al'norr: The Undead City

"Where the skeletons work, so you don't have to."

"I expected the undead city to smell. And granted the defleshin' zones really do stink. But most of the city fine. They use skeletons, and have been usin' 'em for hundreds of years now. They're great! Never tired, hungry, thirsty, can't get sick. The list goes on! What a workforce. And I dare any army to try and take on Al'norr. Think you can withstand the skeleton horde that awaits behind and all around it's walls? Fat chance! Skeletons are personal guards too, but they usually have a Keeper somewhere close by who uses them for there own purposes. There's a lot of freelance Necromancers doin' all kinds of odd jobs. Versatile folk they are. Though I have to say, having Necromancers run the place really brings down the vibe. The buildings are all gothic in style and there's little to no colour. It's a gloomy place, with a stern and serious tone. What really amazes me is the guy who maintains it all, Archmancer: Elduin, the Resurrector. All the guards and all the workers in the whole city are controlled by him. It's crazy! Who has power like that? and how? I don't trust it. But hey, it beats those tight-ass bastards in Greyfell who'll kill ya for a simple prestidigitation. And it ain't easy finding Magemoor if ya don't know what you're doin'. This is one of the few places left that Greyfell can't reach. The Plague Lands are vast and there's not much to sustain a living army out here."

Demographics

The populace is largely Elven, with humans, dwarves, and halflings to a lesser extent. Necromancers are considered the highest class of citizen. The second highest is the commoner who is able to focus on the arts. As all laborus jobs are done by undead, regular citizens are free to develop skills in trades and in arts. There is a very strong macabre culture in Al'norr. The lowest are the undead, who are not even citizens, they are slaves and that is all.

Government

Government is run by a semi-religious group of Necromancers who pass down the ruling to future Necromancers who are trained in the Necromancer School of Al'norr.
