The Principality of Fior
While the ruler of Fior is a male, the line is passed down through the female line. The Filtea is the closest female relative with a son to the King and is usually a sister, mother or aunt. If she has multiple sons, she decides which amongst them becomes King. Amongst female relatives with equal blood proximity, those with both a son and a daughter are given priority for Filtea. 'Mother Filtea' is a seperate title referring to the mother of the King and the Filtea and Mother Filtea may be the same person.
History
While initially part of the same Fiollian revolt, Fior quickly split from Asteria due to the expansive Nove summits that naturally separated the two lands. Despite this, the two monarchs still recognised their shared religious interests and desire for independence against the Outesian Empire and the countries have had relations varying from lukewarm to friendly over the years.
Territories
Fior is blocked in by the Nove summits, Risca Sea and the Outesian Empire. Due to this, they've been forced to innovate technologically and magically.
