El'Rakar

The planet of El'Rakar is a fantastic world of magic and adventure. It is very similar to Earth in terms of size, climate, etc., but the biology of the planet is very different with a multitude of intelligent races and countless fantastic creatures and plants (as humans are the only being more-or-less transplanted from Earth).   Magic is core to the functioning of this world, and is strictly Element-based. There exist six Core Elements (Wind, Earth, Water, Flame, Light, and Dark) that serve as the basis for all magic, with two Cores being combined to form a wide array of Elements. Magic and the Cores are derived from six primary deities and kept aligned by the Order of Guardians, a group of mortal individuals (one for each Element) who have ascended into their new title with the gods' blessings.   Throughout the history of the Order, only the Dai'Moru have had the honor of being named Guardians. And then, with the passing of the Guardian of Gale, the search for his successor lead to the discovery that a Fayr had somehow ascended and been named. This has sparked confusion, denial, anger, and resentment amongst the people of the world as they find themselves split between tradition and change, culminating in The War of Ascension.   Many fear that peace is but a relic of times not so long ago. Only time will tell if they are right.
