Dark Fae

Unique even among Fae kind, Dark Fae are not born naturally. Dark Fae are created when a High Fae corrupts themselves and in turn their magic.
Due to the nature in which these Fae are created up until the year 318 there was only a single known Dark Fae. With the arrival of the people from Fortunes Bay a second Dark Fae was created in Lodovicus.
Dark Fae are unlike any other Fae, the corruption of their magic at its very core allows them to access power from all the realms in the multiverse however this imbalance of power is seen as an affront to the balance of the realms and a decree was issued by the High Queen of the Fae. "Dark Fae were not permitted to leave the Everglade, under any circumstance."
The first known Dark Fae was reportedly captured and tossed into the "Dark Realm" and has not been heard from since.
Dark Fae despite the corruption of their magic are not inherently evil they are called Dark Fae only because they have dimmed the light that is inside every Fae through the corruption of themselves, but the fear that these Fae bring often causes them to be met with hostility and thus the Queen saw fit to ban them from the Everglade as well, forcing them to live in this "Dark Realm" alone.
The Process of becoming a Dark Fae is incredibly painful and most Fae do not survive the change. There are some who have tried to make this change in a bid to grab for power to overthrow the Fae monarchy, but those who have made the change for this reason are found and slaughtered before they are able to come learn to access their newfound power.
The imbalance of power in El-Rah by the Dark Fae Lodovicus in the 320th Cycle brought with it a fear of what the future would hold for the Fae and their union with El-Rah.
