Log of the Ukanten-Reetmayer Expedition

Day 94 Finally! We have found unmistakable evidence of an ancient culture having lived in these mountains. Giant archs are fashioning the frame of a long decayed gate. We rest here today, but Jonathan expects us to explore the ruins tomorrow. It was along search. The rest of the crew is finally excited again.
The Log of the Ukanten-Reetmayer Expiditon is documenting the expedition around Jonathan Reetmayer and Gustav Federlauf to the Ukanten Ruined City, as well as findings and observation made by Gustav Federlauf.
Day 31 We made it past another canyon and were in a dead end again today. I keep telling Jonathan, that the rock formations clearly show a flow of magic into the cave systems. He is still not willing to explore there. Just some wheat soup and dried jerkey to eat. Again.
Mostly written by Gustav, the log contains several notions about the unrest in the crew, the discovery of the ruins and some odd accidents happening sometimes.
Day 35 Gustav was told to stop writing about rock formations. Big fight. I have to take over writing for now. Tried another canyon, another dead end. Provisions should hold for a while.

Structure

The Log consists of three distinct parts. The first part describes the daily progress of the epxedition in short log entries. Most of these entries are written by Gustav, with an occasional commentary and side note by other persons.
Day 43 Finally got back to writing the log today. Franke has no eye for important details. There was an accident today. As I predicted, the rock face would not support climbing efforts. Timmen's leg is broken, we will have to stay a few days. Good thing we brought a small fortune in healing crystals with us. Jonathan is finally willing to try the route down the caves.
The second part are extensive notes on the Wall of Lost Knowledge and other information found within the ruins. It denotes Gustav's efforts to decipher the inscriptions.
Day 89 Found some fascinating artifacts of pottery and rest of tools. Definite sign we are getting closer. I kept a small pick for myself. The others claim it to be worthless, but I am sure it holds some magic. Made sketch of the etchings on the head at back of log. Timmen caught some rabbits today - fresh meat for dinner. Today was a good day.
The third part are drawings and ilustrations made throughout the travels. This conten was apprently filled in from the back and a reader has to turn the book upside down to properly view it.
