There is one thing, church and government always agree on: The rate how to split the taxes between them is completely unfair and the other party is getting way too much
The Government-Church Tax Ration describes the Ratio in which the government of
Caramiza and the church of Maned split the tax income from trade made by the neutral
Tauschwarte. As it is traditional in Caramiza to verify legitimate deals with a Tauschwart standing witness, the amount of taxable revenue is significant.
For roughly 150 years the ratio has been changed regularly. While it started out in favor of the church in a 60/40 split in 1548, it almost flipped to a 44/63 split after the
Silent Secular Revolution in 1604. In the last decades, the split is almost even but changed on a yearly basis.
Arguments by the church for a split more in their favor usually include the origin of the
Tauschwart within the church of Maned as well as the temples and shrines usually are provided by the church.
These are usually countered by the council with the education of the Tauschwarte being fully financed by the local councils as well as the regent himself and the explicitly declared independence of the Tauschwarte from the church around the year 1300.
