Athan na Diham
Rorak Athan na Diham
Athan suddenly felt a stab of defense for his northern allies. “What attacked you?”
“Unyct.” The woman looked just about as confused as he hid.
“What?”
“They…did something to him,” she went on. “No one knows what, but he can’t work magic anymore.”
“How is that possible?” Athan asked.
“No one knows,” she repeated. “But if we couldn’t find help in Casca, we won’t find it here. Thank you for the offer again.” She turned away from him, placing a hand on the man’s shoulder.

Personal history
Back in the times of the seer hunts, before the unification of the tribes and start of the Ahknan era, a young Mojocki hunter was an important figure in his familial tribe. Mojoc at the time was worthy of the title 'nation' by its own right, and subsets of the tribe were crowded all over the southwest.
Athan often accompanied his father to tribal meetings where representatives spoke about territorial disputes, sacred ceremonies, and food distribution, and eventually became a representative himself when his father couldn't make the trip anymore. His family lived four days away from the meeting hall that was in the town that would become Diham, in a small hamlet with no name. On one of his trips up to Diham, he came across a few Cascan wanderers heading south from their typical lands. After hearing about how Unyct was attacking and stealing magic from Cascan healers, he brought the issue to light in many meetings. Soon, he realized that the nation of Mojoc wouldn't be able to do anything unless the separate tribes and family circles united.
So, he issued a call to arms, asking as many people as possible to contribute soldiers and forces to help their Cascan allies. As the defense movement grew in popularity, it was decided that they needed more organization, and so called together all tribes across the land except for Hatchana, who refused to participate in the battle. Athan soon became regarded as a leader, and assumed a leading position in this new coalition. Under him, Unyct was chased out of the territories. The tribes remained unified in order to keep their military strong, and to protect all of their people. Previously, the land that they had lived on had been referred to as 'ahkrana,' which where they drew the name 'Ahkna.'
Athan created a council made up of representatives from every one of the larger tribal nations, and set the meeting spot in Diham. Because of this, he's regarded as the founder of the country, and a ruling order was established to keep up defense of the land and its people.
Athan was the first ruler, the first rorak. He married someone from his hometown before taking any ruling position, and had three children with her: Seth, Heth, and Talah.
