GHG Session 59: Scenes from Sanjuro
General Summary
Month 4, Week 1, Year 919
The meeting with Lachesis and Allexander Hainaut was brief, but still loathsomely long for Zan'kiri. The two dark elves explained how they'd been keeping an eye on the party ever since their exploits in the Imperial Marshes made headlines, and the time had come to confront the Fortunate Five about their involvement in Jezebeth Rahal's 'disappearance'. To that end the Hainauts discussed the proposed Edict of Dromire to regulate Ekal's necromancers, a proposition that Zan'kiri showed skepticism and outright disdain for. With nothing further to discuss, the deal was sealed with the Ageless One: the FF would find and defeat Gray Hat during which time a portal would be opened in the Veil to banish the archdemon and allow the world's gith population (perhaps including Zan'kiri) to escape. Before leaving the Ageless One arranged to have Reetma and Windred meet their patron deities, their blessings helping to erase the curses accrued by the Deck of Many Things. Heiwa helped the party teleport back to Sanjuro City, volunteering to serve as their liaison with the Ageless One to keep lines of communication open. The next morning the party met up with Kyoko and explained to her the situation with the Ageless One, and she appeared comfortable with the plan so long as they stayed within the Northern Territories. Windred tried scrying on Argus to see if his body could be used as a reference point for Gray Hat's whereabouts, but sadly the archdemon proved harder to spy on than Craghan. The party had plenty of success winning over some of the locals at least: traveling to the underdeveloped Kegareta neighborhood in the southeast corner of town, Xa'kara continued to shower the commoners with gold while Zan'kiri used his psychic powers to dig a new well for the community. It would still take a lot of time and energy to win the townspeople over to Zan'kiri's side, but they no longer thought of him as a monster seeking to destroy their city! The FF could've spent weeks helping improve living conditions in Sanjuro City, but a painful dinner conversation with a wealthy elven family made it clear that they couldn't wait any longer to hunt down Gray Hat...
