GHG Session 42: King Kong Ain't Got Sh*t on Me!
General Summary
Month 1, Week 1, Year 919
The Fortunate Five's fight against Ownka Ramm raged on, the orcish warlord and her lizardfolk cultists honing in on Windred to stop her from melting the Ownka's armor any further. Log had a clear shot on Windred and Ownka dealt a devastating blow to the druid, but with support from the rest of her party Windred evaded Log's sneak attack and survived the blow from Ownka. In retaliation she transformed into a giant ape and started pummeling Ownka into the ground, eventually flattening them into a pancake and putting an end to the Gruumsh cult's reign of terror. But the fight raged on in other parts of the temple, Xa'kara nearly bludgeoned to death by Raptor Jesus and Bubbles skewered by a ravenous lizardfolk. But Zan'kiri managed to bring Xa'kara back into the fight with a well-timed use of 'Life Transference' while Reetma and Ysmyrelda fended off the remaining lizardfolk to save their grung ally. At Ownka's behest Log escaped the fight with 'Dimension Door', after which the battle against the lizardfolk cultists had come to an end. Taking a much-needed rest after such intense fighting, the party started exploring the temple and Ownka's corpse for any valuable loot. Zan'kiri found some magical plate armor behind the altarplace, and with some surprising dexterity Ys discoverd one of Ownka's teeth stored an encoded thought inside. Gruumsh pleaded with Reetma to join his side and continue the reign of terror started by Ownka, but Reetma politely declined even as Gruumsh's offers became more and more desperate. A handful of surviving lizardfolk escaped the camp to start an orgy pit of their own free from Gruumsh's oversight, and the party rescued half a dozen prisoners from the camp (one of them being a blue grung with a taste for mint). The aftermath of the fight also marked the departure of one adventurer from the FF and the addition of a new ally. Beguiler vanished from Ekal's plane of existence with Thranoslav in tow, explaining to Ys how their mission was complete and that maybe one day they'd reunite in some new universe or timeline. The mouse provided the group with a couple of parting gifts, the largest of which being a kaiju-sized boar that tore through the camp and laid waste to the camp's armory during the FF's battle with Ownka. The second gift proved more unexpected: a statuesque figure with stone wings and golden eyes who only spoke in the language of Old Myltev. Reetma managed to make small talk with them being by way of Celestial, still uncertain about the figure's origins but reassured that they didn't prove any threat to the party. As evening fell over the camp Zan'kiri repurposed the fort to defend against any late-night intruders, scattering undead around the perimeter and even setting up a moat around the central ziggurat. Despite the language barrier, the FF communicated to the prisoners that they'd be safer with the party rather than trying to brave the Koulan Forests. They all agreed to stay, but a stern-looking woman from Sanjuro City needed some extra convincing from Xa'kara before deciding to hang around. While Bubbles debated the merits of nutella vs mint with the blue grung, Windred called Kyoko Hara to update her on the party's resounding success. Kyoko was delighted by the news, but she demurred when Windred asked for University assistance for dealing with Craghan's curse. Frustrated but eventually calmed down by Zan'kiri, Windred and the others settled in for a night in the ruins of a fallen enemy before marching back to Sanjuro City.
