Tarqonian Lunacy

"There is a terrible cost for the mundane to gaze into the future. Not only will they sully their spirit, but they must also sacrifice their mind." - Lady Urune, Divination Mage
Since antiquity the ability to see places far away or to look into the future for a glimpse of possible things to come has been sought after. In contemporary times the usual solution would be to have or hire a divination mage to complete the task. For those who cannot afford to keep a wizard under employ, or for those who simply don't wish too, another solution is the drug: Third Eye.

Third Eye, is a blue-green power that when inhaled allows a person to see into the future or to places far away. Unfortunately, as is often the cases with drugs, side effects are quite common. Users of Third Eye often suffer from what is called: Tarqonian Lunacy.

After the initial onset, the disorientation generally subsides within a day or two, only to return later. After the disorientation subsides, temporary blindness is experienced by most people. The experience of temporary blindness often subdues the severity of the experience of muscle fatigue. There is a 1 in 4 chance of additionally suffering from delusions. If the condition worsens, or as seen in more serious cases, patients suffer from seizures. The seizures are generally experienced at moderate levels.

In extreme cases, the patient will suffer permanent blindness and Third Eye will no longer work for them. In these instances the patient is said to be, "Third Eye Blind".
