The Felshard Tundra

Far to the north, beyond The Tyrnzig Mountains, lays a frozen land broken and cracking. The ground is ice and the mighty pines frozen in ice, the wind howls and bites with a bitterness that is felt nowhere else. The Felshard Tundra is home only to the hardiest of creatures, all competing with one another for survival in the desolate frigid wastes. Breaking up the bleak tundra are dense forests of ancient pines, withstanding even the most vicious and violent winds. No men, dwarves, or elves live this far north, instead stubborn tribes of wild orcs, ogrekin, and trolls call this hellish landscape home. Ruins of ancient kingdoms remain hidden under sheets of ice and white frost, remnants of long dead rulers.

Geography

The largely flat tundra landscape is broken and cracked by chasms the break up the ground. Deep forests of pines grow in areas covering dozens of miles before abruptly ending at the tundras edge, Occasionally the violent winds will uncover a ruined structure, gravestones to long dead empires forgotten by time and history.

Fauna & Flora

Aside from ogre clans, orc tribes, and errant trolls the rest of the wild life is typical to a tundra landscape. Foxes, bears, wolves, rabbits, and elk roam the vastness in constant search of food and shelter. Sparse vegetation hides under snowdrifts while the dense pine forests provide a fair bit more variety of flora, although still sparse compared to the southern forests.

Natural Resources

Trappers and skinners travel shallowly into the tundra for more rare skins and furs. From time to time a wayward group of adventurers may attempt to reach one of the many ruins inspired by tales of hidden treasure within their rotting bowels. Shallow iron deposits have on occasion been located but not significant attempts have yet been made to exploit their resources due to the harsh climate and inhabitants.
