The Allegiant

The Inevitable Dawn

The city-states of Brom had been slowly eroded and controlled by the Pale Dawn. Their independence had slipped from their grasp, gradually over the years being replaced the control of the Pale Dawn, who had been posing as the Huer Empire . The old alliances failed them when the Pale Dawn arrived, their forces seemed unstoppable and they asked for so little, that the city-states complied. A Pale Dawn diplomat was installed on the council, became an advisor, or was given leadership in all the city-states.

Awakening

Hidden from the eyes of the Pale Dawn an ancient and greater threat grew and emerged from the depths of the Roughhewn Mountains, bent on the domination of Brom and subjugation of its peoples. The Cult of Rail began its expansion throughout Brom. Its agents infiltrating the various City-states, gaining power and performing dark and forbidden experiments.

Rumbling in the Sands

The Cult of Rail operated in secret for many years until Taldel, Lord of M'Erenal found that the nomadic tribes in the Desert of Galtheras were unifying under the banner of an unknown warlord. Taldel called upon the old allegiances between City-states, sending word to RavenCrest.

Poisoning in Jest

In RavenCrest a new court jester, an agent of the Pale Dawn had been slowly poisoning Lady Alanis Ravencrest and taking control of the city-state, along with a few corrupt members of its council. RavenCrest being one of the last of the City-states managing to resisting its control for so long. Unexpectedly a small group of adventurers, Deus Umbra, sent by Eckhart killed the court jester and restored Lady Alanis Ravencrest to health. The next day a missive from M'Erenal arrived, word from Taldel of the dangers brewing in the desert.

A vision in the Darkness

Through a dream, members of Deus Umbra witnessed Lady Alanis Ravencrest and Vance fleeing RavenCrest and being hunted. Through these visions it was revealed that a group of powerful vampires were undermining the RavenCrest government to take control. Lady Alanis Ravencrest fled to safety.

The Fall of M'Erenal

Taldel's fears were realized when the unified armies of the Tribes of the Seven Sands and the Cult of Rail attacked M'Erenal. The armies of the Fa'de fought valiantly but the city was lost. Near the end of the siege a group of valiant foreign diplomats and soldiers broke through the siege to take a sizable remnent of Fa'de to Edristad.

Ravencrest Restored and Brom Awakened

Deus Umbra goes to fallen and occupied M'Erenal to rescue survivors with the blessing of Onan God of the Distant Star and manage to save one thousand of the Fa'de from the unholy machinations of the Cult of Rail. The favor of Onan shines on the group and they gain an artifact that shows them their place in Destiny and how they will affect the near future. From there Deus Umbra, with the help of Lady Alanis Ravencrest take back RavenCrest from the Pale Dawn. They know the Cult of Rail and its army marches on RavenCrest. Deus Umbra, at the request of Lady Alanis Ravencrest and Eckhart, assassinate the Pale Dawn diplomats in RiverForge and Silver Hall. This restores the City-states to their own control and secures their assistance in coming battle. it is discovered that the Pale Dawn are not the Huer Empire as they had been indicating.

Battle for Ravencrest

As predicted, the unholy armies of Rail Mozer crash upon RavenCrest and the battle rages for two days. Assistance from RiverForge, Clan Silver Fox, Edristad, the Fa'de remnent, the Zaran Corsairs, Taldel, and Tavos, God of the Storm participate in the battle. Deus Umbra and Rail Mozer battle in the plaza outside of the RavenCrest Castle. Through a clever use of a magical item, Patir Nadaar, Emmissary of Dust, God of Time and Hero of the Fa'de imprisons Rail Mozer in his own timestop spell, ending the battle for Ravencrest.

Battle at Wrathfall

After the armies of Brom were unified and victorious over the Cult of Rail, they marched on Wrathfall to banish the Pale Dawn from Brom once and for all. Deus Umbra once again played a pivotal role in defeating the Pale Dawn Archmage, before he ascended to Godhood, through the combined life essence of the armies in and around Wrathfall.

The battle for Harmon's Gambit

Harmon's Gambit was the last known stronghold of the Pale Dawn. The remaining members of the organization had been very vigilant and prepared for the previous tactics of The Armies of the Allegiant and its agents. Deus Umbra barely survived multiple scouting expeditions within the magically walled city, but luckily gained some useful information and were able to locate a lost and forgotten artifact of the Kil’han to ensure the victory of the allegiant armies and eradicate the Pale Dawn.

Articles of Allegiance

Seeing the value of the strong current alliance and the dangers of allowing the old alliances to become weak, the members meet in secret and formalize the formation of The Allegiant.

Beyond the next combat

The Allegiant begins to look beyond her borders and explore the seas to find continents lost since the second age. Hoping to find new allies and that those allies had faired better during the Age of Isolation than its members.
