Festival of the Long Dark

The Festival of the Long Dark takes place when the 3 moons of Eglorix, Achiel, Kasdiel, and Rovio are new. Over these three days the night is the darkest it ever gets in Eglorix. This event has many different names in different cultures and places and is celebrated differently. In some cultures and places it inspires fear, no one leaves the safety of their homes, and the creatures of the night rove the countryside with impunity. Other cultures turn it into a festival, with much celebration. Letting the torches and lanterns burn late into the night and the flow of ale to keep the fear of the night at bay.

History

The festival in some form has been observed across all continents in some form or another as far back as history has been recorded.

The Festival of the Long Dark is remembered as the rise of Yrouden and the beginning of undead wars in Northern Dane.

M'Erenal

The Festival of the Long Dark is remembered as the beginning of the great siege that lead to the Fall of M'Erenal at the hands of Rail Mozer and the Cult of Rail.

Edristad

The Festival of the Long Dark is a joyous time it is a three-day event of revelry and celebration. It is said that during the night a great red dragon and silver dragon prowl the streets defending the righteous.
