Duchess of Sparrows Rest
Requirements
First born child of the previous Duke or Duchess and being of age (16).
Appointment
Each of the Warring Lands many nobles have different ceremonies, for the Stormsparrows however, the title is given by the Court Meistro, who handles all the civic paperwork. The ceremony is short and only involves the Meistro, the would be Duke or Duchess and two loyal retainers. Upon recieving the title, the new Duke or Duchess travel out to Stormsparrow cliff, to make a sacrifice to the God of the Sea and Storms, in hope to have his blessing.
Duties
The Duke or Duchess is the commander for the Duchy's troops and full military, as well as its chief judiciary officer in anything more serious then petty theft.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the Duchy, conferring with allies and advisers and settling criminal disputes.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The Stormsparrows have passed down the "Stormwidow" a hammer once wielded by one of the three kings of the Triumviarate. Its a symbol of legitimacy both with their subjects as well among their rivals.
Cultural Significance
The Duchess Aina is the first female ruler to ever sit on the Stormsparrow throne. As such, it has sent some ripples trough the more conservative circles. Most notably the Ravenhome family, who is the Stormsparrows sworn rivals and longtime enemies. Among the
