Ket

The planet of Cathar was devastated by the Mandalorians during the Battle of Cathar, leading to the destruction 90% the Cathar species. While some of the survivors fled off-world, others were ruthlessly enslaved. Though the Cathar began to resettle their world after the Mandalorian Wars, many Cathar remained slaves for generations. Such was the life of Ket, born into long line of Cathar slaves on Taris and forced to work in its industrial and construction sectors, where he took a special interest in demolitions.
However, as it turns out, curiosity really is a problem for the Cat(har). As Ket learned more Cathar history he became disillusioned and infuriated with his life as a slave, turning his demolitions expertise to more political aims. After an industrial “incident” in which some Gamorrean slavers were unfortunate “casualties,” Ket was sent to the Gladiator pits and forced to fight ferocious animals and beasts for his survival. Here he trained in melee combat and experienced great success with the humble vibrosword and frag grenade as the tools of his trade. It was in a particularly dangerous encounter with a Rancor that Ket lost his arm, shoving a remote demolition charge down its throat and sacrificing the limb for the victory. His owners, however, now saw him as useless chattel to be euthanised.
Fortunately, a mysterious and enterprising bounty hunter had watched the battle and offered to buy Ket’s freedom at a discount in exchange for his services as a hired gun. The hunter fronted the credits for a basic cybernetic prosthesis and employed Ket for years afterwards, never letting him forget the favour that he owed…
