Hello all! It's your neighborhood Valentine comin' at ya for the Summercamp pledge! Last year I was mired in schoolwork, so I could barely get to any, but this is my last week of classes ever, and my summer is gonna be totally free! So I'm about to dive in the waves of worldbuilding and try to fully complete it!
Creative Goal
My main creative goal is merely to expand the worldbuilding of Edda, and have some fun with the various prompts! Last years Summer Camp gave me a few great ideas that I began to use, and really helped me focus on the low-key side of things, along with just generally getting the gears turning.
Now, I am going to be posting my summer camp articles on this world, the base Edda, since it's already a little bit of a wild charcuterie board of worldbuilding, but I do intend to bring any articles I make over to
the Edda Revised Worldanvil page when I get around to their appropriate category since, aside from just generally improving my older articles, I'm trying to keep it more focused instead of jumping from one subject to the next.
Motivation
The biggest drive behind creating Edda, and creating *in* Edda, is to have magic and adventure around every corner, but Edda is also a full world with plenty of different people and strange locations, so being able to zoom-in and focus on a few less 'big name' topics is always something that helps enrich and fill the world with the little things of life.
For example, last year I made the article
Coedwig's Cradle Medical Center, and placed it in a town that had an offhand note of having medical places. When i made the offhand note, I didn't think much of it, but after making that article and revisiting the city it's based in for Edda Revised, I was able to put much more thought into how having a landmark hospital would effect and influence the nature of the town and the type of people living there!
Challenge Goal
I want to aim high, but not the highest in case my brain decides to not be friendly to me this summer, so I'm going to aim for the Gold Medal! 24 Articles in 31 days, with nothing else sapping my mental energy, should be a breeeeeeeze!
I'm really excited to get to work for it, and I'm excited to see what everyone else is going to write as well! See you guys at camp!
