Ecquamas
The world of Ecquamas was fair and beautiful. Great civilizations had being build and the gods of this world tended to their people. Yet there was a looming shadow over Ecquamas, demons: Terrible and cruel. Hungry for devastation and blood they came from the dark corners of Ecquamas. Burning, destroying and corrupting, they were a plague upon this world. So the gods and people of Ecquamas banded together in a alliance, to fight back the demons in a legendary battle. A battle which the people would sing of many moons later. And when sword clashed with sword and demons fought against gods they, lost. Even with everyone together the demons still achieved victory. And the gods were slaughtered, along with their great armies.
The demons descended on the people of Ecquamas, killing and slaughtering to quench their hunger for blood and the magical Essence they needed to survive. After many years they had achieved victory, yet, it was not to last. For eventually all the gods and their follows either hid, ran away or were are slaughtered. With no common enemies the demons started to fight amongst themselves, their disagreements came to light and former allies turned foe.
In another brutal and bloody war demon was put against demon. And overtime they started to die, one by one. Only a few still draw breath. Each having found their own way to survive. And over the many years that passed the people of Ecquamas started to recover, having to live in a world without their gods. But all was not lost, in the mist of this chaos 4 demons chose to break the mold. They, unlike the rest, offered the people protection in exchange for loyalty. They were the saviors of Ecquamas and her people. They are called: The Tetrad.
And although these events happened many moons ago, many still wear the scars of defeat. Getting reminded of what they have lost so many years ago. But many more people feel betrayed by their gods and have chosen to forget them. They have have joined the Tetrad, seeing them as their new gods. Together with these new deities the people have transcended into a new age, of rebuilding and growth. Long past are the years of fighting and bloodshed, and people can finally enjoy a peaceful life.
Though there is still a small amount of people who are still loyal to the old gods. They have to survive in a world that is keen on hunting them down, whilst they follow a deity that will never respond to their prayers.
