Selvada

Selvada is the wildest place there can be in all Mesos. This subcontinent is found at the southeast coast of Mesos. The humid winds from the ocean make Selvada a very humid place; that combined with the fact that it is in the equatorial zone of the globe makes Selvada a large land filled with tropical rainforests and rivers. It possesses a dry and a rainy season that drastically change its environment.

During the rainy season, its almost always raining, and the rivers flood the land making most of the northern part of Selvada one big swamp where only the biggest animals or the swimmers can live. It houses two main civilizations: at the north is the Republic of Ahualisa and at the south is the Pyrom Kingdom.

Geography

Selvada is limited at the north by Yunhai and the pass to Templer through the coast, at the west with the central mountain range and the pass to Heiles and at the south and the east with the Zoris ocean. The landscape of Selvada is relatively plain, with hills and some mountains dispersed through the valley. Reaching south, the landscape gets hillier from the mountains to the coast, creating grand shore cliffs.

But one of the most relevant characteristics of Selvada are its river. Selvada has the most amount, biggest and longest rivers of all Mesos. They start in the central mountain range at the west and at Yunhai in the north and join to form large rivers that cross all the land. The biggest river is the Crocante River which flows into the city of Delta.

Fauna & Flora

The flora of Selvada is dominated by tropical trees, tree ferns and cycads. At the north, the land is dominated by huge trees that rival in size with the tallest sauropods of Mesos. Some of these trees have adapted special ways for their seeds to disperse easily taking advantage of the height of the trees. At the south, the forest is still tropical yet is covered by smaller trees and tree ferns. The floor of Selvada is generally dark and humid, covered with the dead leaves that fall from the trees all year long, making it the perfect habitat for many types of mushrooms, tropical flowers, ferns and tropical grasses and bushes.

In Selvada, some unique types of fish, lizards and insects can be found. These animals make the base of the food chain for much bigger animals.

This said, the fauna of Mesos is mainly dominated by dinosaurs. The animals that live hear are those able to pass through the spaces between trees or those able to take down the big woods of the jungle with their force, making themselves pass through. As such, the size difference of the animals is very big, living here animals as big as Sauroposeidon and as small as Kentrosaurus.

Natural Resources

The soil of Selvada is particularly rich on nutrients beneficial to plant farming. Some areas of the forest contain deposits of gold and iron but require to be excavated thoroughly to be found. The rainforest offers plenty of wood to be used in construction. It is also the subcontinent with the most amount of fresh water.
