Frieda Fricult

Article Contributed by Sydney N.
Frieda Fricult is a journalist for the tabloid The Star Gazette and has written several pieces denouncing the Church of Metaism. Her most infamous piece links the mysterious death of Brian Logan in Harris, NC to the church, though many of her claims are considered sensationalized. Despite her claims not being confirmed, her pieces had led to protests outside of the Church of Metaism’s headquarters in Charleston. SC.

Early life

Frieda Fricult was born to Mary and Harrison Fricult in Raleigh, NC in 2 AE. Her love of writing was sparked by her father’s writing career as he is the author of the fictional book “Velvet Skies Over the Mountains,” a book about a group of young men hiking the Appalachian Trail. Frieda wrote short stories and small articles about her suburban area. She attended St. John’s Catholic Academy for her schooling through middle school where she published her first work, a short story, “Secrets of the Pale”, in a local newspaper, The Raleigh Daily. After her time at St. John’s Catholic Academy, she attended Lakewood School of Fine Arts under a scholarship. There, she worked for the school newspaper, The Lakewood Tribune, quickly becoming a very prolific journalist writing the majority of articles for the paper. She graduated in 20 AE.

College

After her time at Lakewood School of Fine Arts, Frieda attended Columbia University in New York City for journalism. She was a journalist for the Columbia Daily Spectator, Columbia University’s paper. There she met Emma Yi, a photography student that Frieda started dating. In her junior year in 23 AE, Frieda wrote her first professional piece, “The Rise of Organized Crime in Major Metropolises”, in the New York Times. Frieda published several more pieces in the New York Times during her college career. Frieda graduated in 24 AE Magna Cum Laude.

The Brian Logan Situation

Frieda in the beginning of her career was asked to look into the drowning of Brian Logan, a 17 year old boy in Harris, NC. Frieda noticed that Brian’s parents, Gary and Twila Logan, were regulars at the Church of Metaism. Attending one of these services, Frieda heard the pastor talking about unlocking children’s powers. Curious, Frieda asked if there was a way to potentially unlock her powers. The pastor told her in great detail how some sects try to unlock their congregations power by putting them under extreme stress, however this sect does not because it is unethical. Interviewing several members of the community, Frieda came to the conclusion that Gary and Twila drowned their son to unlock his power. Frieda published her first hit piece, “Brian Logan:Murdered for Metaism” though it was not picked up by the New York Times, but by the Star Gazette. When the piece was published, protests against the church broke out.

Current Career

Frieda is still publishing pieces on the Church of Metaism, gossip on mainstream heroes, and speculations on up and coming heroes. She is a full time journalist for the Star Gazette with her partner Emma. She is still a prolific journalist as well as a nonfiction writer, publishing “Mafiana: A Look into Organized Crime.” Frieda is also an advocate for Metahuman reforms and regulations.
