City of Angels

Summary

The City of Angels is believed to have once been a great city created by the Divines in order for their agents to have somewhere to live while being spies on Earth. After thousands of years a mysterious force killed all the angels in the city and leaving it in ruins. It is said that ancient knowledge of forgotten secrets can be found throughout the city.

Historical Basis

A part of the Earth has been shrouded in an endless fog and if you enter you will just exit where you intended to go, on the other side. Those who enter seeking the ruins of the city, however, won’t leave until they change their destination.
The City was found and many organizations and nations wanted it for themselves, and all the knowledge it is said to contain. The only reason a war hasn’t started is because non of the believed knowledge has been found. There is, however, many drawings on the walls, and cracks, which have led people to question what happened to the City and how the angels were killed.

Spread

Everybody has heard about the City of Angels, but mainly as propaganda for the war against Eladrin. King Henry I was the one to make the knowledge of the City known to all of Valdera, and once they knew, all of Ebrek knew. The King had spread the rumor that Eladrin was the one to Destroy the City, and kill the angels, but it was well known that Eladrin wanted the angels to either help or stay away. To kill the Divines most important base on Earth would have been the worst thing she could do.

Variations & Mutation

The biggest variation is the one believed by the Valdrians. Their King told them that it was his biggest enemy, Eladrin, who was the one to lay waste to the City. Eladrin, however, told her followers that it was the evil feys that destroyed it. The Shao, on the other hand, are often disguised Devas, and so the Shao know more than any of the other nations and tribes on Ebrek.
