Nearly 1,000 years ago, the boundaries between the earthly plane and the Seven Hells were broken by the mage Dakronias. For nearly a century, monstrous entities poured forth from the great void tear, sweeping across every kingdom on the Continent. After the armies of the Dark Sovereign were met with destruction, the monstrosities of the Void retreated into the shadowed places of the world.   Struggling through droughts, famine, territorial wars, and other supernatural horrors left over from the great war, civilization began to rekindle. Now, the denizens of Emmeron live with the shadowed history of the Hallowing War as a distant memory. Still plagued by nightmarish creatures throughout the world, they have found a way to live again. The world is a harsh one, filled with terrors, hardships, and violence. It is a brutal world, but beautiful in its own right.
