Unity of Riedra

The land of Sarlona was once a collection of different nations. Around 1,300 years ago, most of these nations, after hundreds of years of bitter in-fighting, were brought under the government of Riedra, which subsequently became the seat of power for the Inspired. Today, while there are pockets of rebellion and some corners of Sarlona remain outside of Riedran control, most in the Land of Unity are zealous worshipers of the Inspired and follow them without question.   The collected provinces and the single government that oversees them is called the Unity of Riedra while Riedra refers to the nation itself, but in practice, the two are used interchangeably.   Government in Riedra is split into several important branches, each with its own purpose:
The Bountiful Horn is responsible for the production and distribution of food.
Industry and manufacturing is overseen by the Industrious Forge.
The Sturdy Wall builds and maintains infrastructure and organizes all construction projects, including that of the Hanbalani Altas.
The physical health of the Riedran population is the purview of the Healing Hand.
Injuries to the mind and spirit are dealt with by the Sheltering Hearth, which also has the nebulous task of "coordinating the well-being of all citizens."
The Guiding Path is the priesthood. In addition to shepherding the people down the Path of Inspiration, they take a primary role in the education of Riedran children.
Finally, foreign affairs are overseen by the Iron Gate, which has traditionally been mainly interested in keeping foreigners out. Immediately after the Great Freezing, however, this branch of the Unity offered to take in thousands of Brelish refugees displaced when huge sections of Sharn became entombed in ice.

Eberron Next Setting Notes:
Riedra is pretty obviously analogous to and modeled after communist China (with nefarious, extra-dimensional aliens playing the part of the commies). Adar is Tibet (before Tibet had its own PR issues), and maybe Dar Qat in Xen'drik is a burgeoning Hong Kong. In Next, the Riedran accent and language is Russian. The Quori, however, speak a telepathic language that uses emotions and images more than words. As a consequence, the edicts and proclamations of the Inspired are often worded awkwardly and contain a lot of adjectives (eg "Delight citizens must sunshine submit to smile visits from devoted Guiding Path priesthood.")
