In the beginning, the Draconic Prophecy began to unfold, detailing accounts of the present, and prophecies of the future that would gradually be fulfilled. Civilizations rose and fall, great cataclysms rocked the foundations of the world, outer planes began to overlap and rip away from the realm, and magic weaved its way into the hands of many practitioners. Technology advanced from the stone age to a near-space age in multiple nations, and so far there is one modern nation that can claim this achievement.   The Great Nations of Khorvaire have spent the last several millennia building, innovating, and warring- over resources, territories, and power until it had become the land it is known as today. With magic and science working side by side, unique cultures and religions affecting world events, and influence from exotic races and monsters create a very unique world full of adventure and groundbreaking lore, interwoven into the stories told by many sages and bards across the land.   The world of Eberron is special, from its origins to its inhabitants, and the magic and extraplanar powers at work. From the dragons in Argonessen contemplating the Prophecy to the Dragonmarks developing on the lesser races of the land. See the Elves and their powerful magic of undeath upon the isle of Aerenal, to the lurking Drow in a fallen Giant's civilization within Xen'drik, all the way to the hellish landscapes of the possessed lands of Sarlona. And not to mention the fiendish dark beneath the world itself, monsters and nightmares wandering the twisting caverns of subterranean Khyber.   The world of Eberron is full of threats, and many campaign opportunities. The world is intended to be played at the current Modern Age at 1000 YK, following the Mourning and the Last War, ended with the Treaty of Thronehold. The turn of the millennia offers new threats and innovations, with Elemental-powered ships of air, land, and sea, and an awakening power of Psionics amongst the races of Khorvaire. However, this doesn't prevent a DM from making campaigns based on past events. There are tens of thousands of years worth of content within this world, from the age of the Giants, to when Goblins were the most advanced civilization and largest empire. The world is a sandbox, meant to be discovered and fought for (or against)!   The majority of the accompanying campaign is based in Khorvaire, including story hooks, many articles of lore that can be directly applied to a DnD Game, and stat blocks for inhabitants and heroes of the land.
