The Raging Abyss
The Raging Abyss refers to the Ocean in between the continents Cadalyn, Kysa, and Edune. It is so unfathomably deep that its water seems pitch black.
It is plagued by unpredictable storms. These storms mess with navigational equipment such as compasses, while also darkening the night sky, obstructing the stars, making it neigh impossible to navigate these waters. Most ships stick to the shorelines as much as possible, with only the most foolhardy of captains sailing over the deeper parts of the ocean. Even those who sail the shoreline and shallow parts of the ocean, sometimes get caught in the outskirts of one of the storms.

A head with pointed ears and shredded gills breaking through the water, hair writhing like tentacles, maw letting out a bloodcurdling scream. The chill of sea spray, the wind whipping at clothes. Teeth like oversized needles abruptly moving into focus, getting closer and closer with a breath of sickening decay. Falling, racing towards the abyss. Breath held, eyes squeezed shut, desperately reaching out to magic. Landing on hard floor, bruising, breathing in familiar scent of books and home. Still alive...
