Tabitha is the owner of the best bar in town, but she has never enjoyed alcohol. Her gambit is all for the atmosphere; she wants people to settle in for the night and have some fun.
Tabitha is a prophet/seer and runs a little fortune telling business on the side. If she doesn't feel someone's intentions are good, the fortune she tells them is usually insignificant. However, those who have a greater journey to take get discounted (or free!) consultations.
Her best friend, Dolly, went out of town a long while ago and no one has ever heard from her since.

These days Tabby doesn't work out much. She's still a small woman but gaining pudge on her torso. She isn't very physically fit. She has weak knees that pain her more and more as she gets older.

Personal history

Tabitha was born and raised in Erstwhile and has never minded that for a second. She tends to disdain those who talk down on Erstwhile as a boring little place, because they never appreciate the richness of life.
Born in the roaring 60s full of political upheaval, Tabitha's parents were always waiting for something new and terrible to happen. That meant Tabitha's media intake and contact with the outside world was fairly limited thanks to her parents' wish to keep her safe from the turbulent world out there.
She flourished in school in a social aspect because of her bright and cheery manner. Most kids loved her, if not thinking her a bit kooky with her watchful and intuitive way. She kept at her education for as long as she could, but decided to drop out of her Economics degree in the early 90s to come back to Erstwhile.
Tabitha started to experience her seer abilities at only 11 years old, when she had a dream her pet guinea pig Gerald was going to die. He did, and she was upset but fairly sure of her newfound abilities. Her methods are typically just by watching people, especially making eye contact, and physical touch helps to conceive an accurate prophecy.
Tabitha married an oil rig worker at 21. They were very excited to have a family together, though Bern (her husband) seemed uncomfortable with Tabby working a lot and tried to sway her to let him cover their expenses, to get her ready for motherhood as he put it. However, she discovered herself unable to have children, which destroyed a lot of her confidence and hopes for the future. She suggested adopting, but Bern was becoming more and more distant. In the end, he left her for another woman and moved away from Erstwhile for good after he was made redundant when most oil rigs were shut down
These events made Tabitha more withdrawn than she had ever been. At 25 she was single, unable to have children and her father was of ailing health. At this point she fully took over his business, a spiritual cafe, and began renovating it to be a bar which would fit in better with Erstwhile's clientele. She received a lot of criticism about this from her mother and the handful of spiritualists in the town.
Tabitha met Ham when she was 29 and took a liking to him immediately. A good ten years older than her, gruff and unsentimental, she found him fun to tease and prod at good naturedly. The two formed a great friendship which lasts to this day.
At 31, Tabby decided to adopt a child from a Oiseau foster home, a toddler named Sammy. She brought him back to Erstwhile and became a strong and independent mother figure. Ham became ingrained in Sammy's life, also, simply for being a regular at Tab's bar.

Harnessing her powers of prophecy, allowing her to help not only herself and those close to her, but the public in general. Taking over her father's business and turning it into something she was personally passionate about - making an inclusive and fun atmosphere for all. The fact that she did as she wanted and didn't listen to the negativity from external sources is a matter of great pride to her. Getting over her ex-husband, Bern, who she was quite heartbroken about when he left her. That she also remained strong after learning of her inability to have children made her more certain of herself and her ability to get through difficulties. Adopting her child, Sammy, from the city foster home. It allowed her to feel again that she was able to be a mother even if she wasn't able to conceive.

When she has a prophecy, prediction or fortune outwith a consultation she says "Honey, I've just got to tell you; it's not for me to keep your business from you," or something along those lines. If there's bad news in a consultation, she sucks her teeth and says "Huh," and if it's good news she starts with "Oh!"
