Herenui
Lieutenant Herenui Wiesemann (after adoption), Bärenkiller (after wedding, but it's later in the story!)
“While the fight was about to resume, Herenui chose to take action. Still surrounded by the other three men, she took advantage of their inattention to try to get rid of them.
She grabbed the smallest soldier's head and head-butted him on the nose with her forehead. A sinister crack indicated that the bones had not withstood the violence of the shock and her opponent collapsed, his nose bleeding. Alerted by the noise, his two friends turned around and discovered, surprised, their companion holding his face, huddled on the ground.
The first to react was the militiaman who provoked the demoness a little earlier. He grabbed his weapon and began to draw it but Herenui did not give him time to finish his gesture. With her right hand, she gripped her enemy's wrist and pulled it down with all her weight, pushing the man's blade back into its sheath and unbalancing him, dragging his right shoulder and bust to the ground. With her left hand, Herenui grabbed the skull of the guard and propelled her knee to the right temple of her opponent, which collapsed, inanimate.
The third man, stunned by the performance of the demoness, had not sketched the slightest gesture during the scene that had unfolded. When he met Herenui's red-eyed gaze, he received an electric shock and recovered his spirits. The guard grabbed his sword and threw himself on the teenager who easily dodged the blow, deporting to the side, before tripping the man who stretched out all the way.
As he was about to get up quickly, Herenui kicked him in the stomach, expelling all the air from his lungs and taking his breath away. Seeing that he was incapacitated, the demoness leaned forward and picked up the sword that the soldier had droppped to hold his stomach.
When Fabeck had sent her to the warehouse, she did not think it would be useful to take up her weapons, which she now regretted, although she managed to get by with her bare hands. She weighed the blade and headed for Ronnie, who had watched the scene carefully.“

With time though, and throughout her odyssey, Herenui starts to become more emphatic and, eventually, makes a few friends, who she cares for, even if she hates to admit it.
This change, and the meeting with Alric, the third prince of the Ebenenian empire gradually set her goal to make the Empire her home and a safe place for her and those she considers friends and family.

Author's Notes
Herenui is my main character. Her odyssey on the Great Continent, and specifically in the Ebenenian Empire is the opportunity for her to discover new things, be it other cultures but also normal human relationship. At the beginning of the story (after being abducted by Fernando's mercenaries) she's socially unfit. She doesn't trust anyone and has her own logic, inculcated by the Tuamotou's guild who raised her. Herenui being forced to protect Natsuko then to join the Ebenenian army are the starting point of her slow but deep changes.
