Doc's Office
Purpose / Function
It's a doctor's office. Its location, situated about a block away from the arena, makes it the default office for wounded fighters. Doc runs the place mostly by himself, but he works very fast (and uses his own Vampire Blood to speed up the process). The office also serves as a recruitment center for The Rebellion. Doc treats the injured, then serves up his recruitment pitch to the fighters he deems capable of serving. On days when there are no arena fights, Doc sets up meeting with potential recruits in his free time and even uses his position within The Rebellion to send recruits on quests.
Alterations
What began as a simple, one-room office with nothing but a curtain separating the waiting room from the operating room is now a full office building with several patient exam rooms, rooms for overnight stay, and two surgery rooms. Doc now even has his own private office filled with patient files and Rebellion paperwork.
Architecture
When the office was first built, it looked much like the other buildings in St. Forbes: a ramshackle hut made mostly of salvaged metal and prayers. Over time, and with the advancement of technology and access to better materials, the office became closer to what a doctor's office from the early 21st century CE would look like: a sterile environment with little in the way of decoration. The walls became insulated, covered with plaster, and painted white. The counters changed from rudimentary metal shelves to stone-top cabinets filled with medical equipment. The roof, once made of thin tin and copper wiring, was now held up with metal beams and covered with basic black shingling. The entire place was basically rebuilt from the ground up, with only a single desk lamp remaining from the original structure. The lamp now sits on Doc's private desk.
