Blue Fleas Condition in Earth PA | World Anvil

Blue Fleas

Transmission & Vectors

Transmitted sexually. The host has no symptoms, but any male sexual partner can contract it.

Causes

The cause is a genetic mutation that also turns the host's hair blue. Caused by a certain demonic infection initially released by the demons during The Apocalypse.

Symptoms

The host's main symptom is her hair color. Hosts of the disease always have blue hair. The infected male's symptoms are large boils on the genitals that eventually burst, hatching a bunch of tiny flea-like critters, colloquially known as "dick fleas." It is unclear what the purpose of the fleas is, as they don't carry the disease and die within moments of their birth. This only happens one time and then the genitals heal over time and the male recipient is now immune to further infection. Some actually infect themselves on purpose, as it is commonly believed that contracting the disease also makes one immune to certain other STI's, but that has never been proven.

Treatment

The host female can undergo a simple treatment involving washing her vagina out with a liquid compound composed of remains of the dick fleas and some other hard to find herbs. There isn't yet a treatment developed for the males who contract the disease.

Affected Groups

The only hosts are biologically female and the only recipients are biologically male.

Prevention

There is no prevention other than, well, the hosts not having children or men not having sex with a host. But, honestly, blue hair is quite the turn-on for many men and not much gets in the way of their libido. Condoms tend to do the trick, though. Usually.

History

During the Apocalypse, there were many changes in human biology, often due to chemical and biological warfare started by the inhabitants of the hell dimensions. One of these such conditions was the Blue Fleas. It is believed that the disease started when a certain type of succubus or incubus copulated with humans. It only spread from there. Notable character hosts include Barbara, her mother Rylee, and Lyllith. Donovan is a notable character recipient.

Cultural Reception

Well, the response is a bit of a mixed bag. Women generally view it as a tragedy and sympathize with the hosts while a good percentage of men fear it and view it as a personal attack on them. Because, you know, men.
