Physical Description

The Eyeglass is a small gray circle of glass no thicker than a centimeter. Along the glass appear to be extremely thin and light imagery of blood vessels though they seem disconnected to how an actual eye looks.

History

The Eyeglass is quite old, ancient, in fact, with records as far back as over two thousand years ago making mentions and allusions to it. One of these old records, a treasury manifest from a dead and buried civilization in the North, even brought about its current name: The Eyeglass. It was considered the personal property of a ruling queen and it carried a harsh punishment for any caught looking through The Eyeglass.

Rumors and Abilities

An unsubstantiated rumor lays claim to the notion that The Eyeglass as it has come to be called, is a smaller piece of a greater whole. This seems unlikely as the small circle of glass appears to be a standalone piece with no known origin. It has passed through many houses of note and auctions as an unassuming and peculiar trinket with no legitimate value other than to flaunt it as a bauble. That said, those who have ever taken the time to hold The Eyeglass up to their own eyes have claimed to behold strange happenings in the world around them. Realistic and revealed by the glass, there exists architecture and even life that appear as stills in the world around the viewer. They cannot be interacted with, and though some would swear they saw the architecture and strange animals move from time to time, with only one Eyeglass, it is impossible to confirm those tales as everyone seems to see things a little differently. Through arcane studies, permitted by the current owner of The Eyeglass, it is clear that there are no known enchantments, runes, illusions, or other types of powers known to the current times imbued into the artifact. It simply exists, and what it reveals to the eyes cannot be explained by science or magic.

Due to an increased understanding of what it does, despite a lack of information on how or why, The Eyeglass has become a topic of discussion and interest among both scholars and collectors.
