Sessile Rossman

Field Marshal Sessile Adam Rossman (a.k.a. "Wild Ross")

Field Marshal Sessile Rossman was a Valerian army commander, singer, and actor. He was known as a very cheerful, wild, and funny man, which made him a very popular commander in the army. Sessile joined the army at the age of 20 in 1914 just before World War I began. He served in the 1st Army under Hengsbach and served in many battles including Arltington, Lake Elshon, and Tamburnia. He rose through the ranks quickly due to his extensive battle record and wild personality. Sessile also became friends with another man in the army, the tactical Oswald Lutz, and the two became close friends. By the time of the September Offensive, Sessile and Oswald both had the rank of Colonel, after the Battle of Ivastalia, where they led a crucial attack on a Growax artillery position that turned the tide of the battle. During the Offensive, They met another future close ally, Edward Pearson, who was part of the new armored corps. After the war, Sessile, Oswald, and Edward were put on duty in Sendovia under the command of Field Marshal Lewis George.   In 1922, Sendovian rebels under Manuel Carlos declared independence and the Sendovian War began. After only a few weeks of war, George was killed in an ambush by Sendovian forces under General Jose Manuel Diaz. A few days later, near the town of Canhalos, Sendovians under Major General Javier Mancebo attempted to attack Oswald, Sessile, and Edward's troops but, the three worked together to form a cunning plan and at the right moment, the Valerians ambushed and decimated the larger Sendovian force and Mancebo was killed during the battle. For this shocking victory so soon after George's crushing defeat, the three colonels were all promoted to Brigadier General and Oswald was placed in charge of all military operations in Sendovia. The three worked well together and planned out several battles that would cause severe damage to the Sendovian army, culminating at the 1923 Battle of Navri, where Valerian soldiers were able to encircle and destroy a large part of the remaining Sendovian army, including General Diaz and Manuel Carlos, who died in the fighting. The war ended shortly afterwards after the Battle of Jalcastos and the death of General Ocampo.   After the Sendovian War ended, The three became very interested in the idea of tanks and armored warfare. They would be involved in the design of several early Valerian tanks. Sessile helped train new recruits at the Jeffery Bonnister Military Academy in Valeria for a number of years before Emperor Vincent put him, Lutz, and Pearson on the Valerian Board for Mechanized Warfare in 1928, a committee meant for the purpose of seeing the possible use of mechanization and designs for mechanized vehicles. After Roland Botrel's coup in Growax in 1929, the three commanders had themselves and their forces placed on the Growax border. Sessile was mostly doing plans for mechanization and the defense of the empire for the next 10 years until, September,2,1939, Growax invaded.   Sessile immediately was thrown into battle on the 3rd when he was able to fend off a Growax armored division. However, his wildness got the better of him on the 12th when he tried to attack a Growax position head on and was immediately ambushed and took heavy losses. He held off Growax attacks for about two months until the 1940 Siege of Calbourne and Vincent ordering all forces to pull back from the border. Sessile worked closely with Oswald and Pearson who were all eventually promoted to Major General. Sessile was then placed on the Boronian front where his wild personality and bravery to charge forward caused havoc to the poorly organized and supplied Boronian army. In late 1941, he was placed back on the Growax front and was able to lead an attack on the Growax 2nd Army under Chapelle, pushing them away from attacking Tamburgia. In mid 1942, he was placed on the Union front after the Volarion Union was able to break into Valerian land after invading the USSR. He preformed well, most famously against Union General Freudenberg in the Valerian's 1942 Winter Offensive. In 1943, he switched between the Boronian and Growax fronts and in January 1944, him, Lutz, and Pearson, fended off a massive Union attack on Varenburg which got them all promoted to General. In June of 1944, he was part of Operation Avalanche, also known as D-Day and in September, the liberation of Ankonia. In early 1946, he and Lutz took part in the Invasion of Roala. In April, Sessile worked with the Soviets in the final defeat of Boronia. After this, all three were part of the final offensives to take down Growax until September and then they were on the Union front until Henzler's death and the end of the war. Also in that year, Sessile met his future wife who was a nurse at the time, the cheerful and peppy Julie Aradana, and they fell in love.   After the war, all three were promoted to Field Marshal for their brave and active service by Vincent. Sessile married Julie in 1950 and retired from the army in 1953. He then went into singing as he was said to have a good singing voice. He had several great hits including Sh-Boom and Love of My Life. He mainly became known for his do-woop and disco music. He also became involved in acting in the 1960's. His most famous roles were as the Head of the Intelligence Service in the first few Agent Clyde films, Sheriff Browning in the famous 1967 Kelsdorpian Western film Frontier, and as himself in the 1968 Valerian war film Road to Victory, which focused on the Union front of World War II. He eventually retired from singing and acting and died at the age of 102 in 1996. In 1985,11 years before his death, the Empire named it's new main battle tank, T1 Rossman, after him. The fifth Maximillian Kelsen-Class Aircraft Carrier was also named after him.
