earth: future

after the inevitable collapse of the worldwide economy and earth falls into a state of utter panic, a court of ambassadors work to create a new world. after twenty-eight years of cleansing and essentially remodeling how humanity lives, it seems that the world has taken a turn for the better.   new states are created at a manageable size, based on factors such as resources and population, which comes with a great deal of protests from those who wish that the world had just stayed as it was. the council of ambassadors, named the Court of Initiative (tba), places a set of international rules in place. renewable energy becomes the norm and all states share their wealth. aside from the Court’s baseline laws, each state will have it’s own elected leader, and a council to decide other factors, such as distribution of funds.   the changes did not come easily, to say the least. people argued that this Court was taking their rights. they were not wrong. the Court simply wanted a world of peace, and for them, that meant controlling the population for the time being. eventually, this new way of living settled, and we began to move forward again. the world kept turning, and as the new century drew closer, the bounds on the population began growing tighter and tighter, until the assassination of Councillor Drew Finnigan made the states erupt into chaos...
