Earth

"In the future mankind is earth locked and recovering from multiple catastrophies, rendering the earth a desolate wasteland. Humankind is dependent on a semi-automated space mining setup by their ancestors and its automated systems has only recently been able to start sending essential minerals back to earth. The mining operation is controlled by the Central Administrators, humans that have been gifted nanobots in their bodies that gives control of the newly created machinery, all based on lost knowkledge that is also only recently being recovered and deciphered. The nanobots are not compatible with everyone so it has created a 2 class system of "Enlightened" (recruited/born into houses) and "normals". Most Enlightened are involved in the mining operation by controlling the drones in space but there is intense competition between houses to identify and collect the most resources.
