DMV/BPC 1 "Warwagon"
The DMV/BPC 1, universally known as the Warwagon was the Mountain Kingdoms Army's first mechanized troop carrier and saw service during the late stages of the First Dwarvo-Gnomen War from 1799-1813.
Developed during the 1790s by then Brightmantle Arms, it was deployed in 1799 and intended to speed the dwarfen army's response to any insurrection activity in the occupied territories of the gnomes, and to allow swift, safe reconnaissance of areas outside immediate control. The Warwagon served in this role until 1846 when it was replaced version 3.
Powered by a runic furnace, it was capable of turning any available liquid into fuel by passing it through a mesh screen embossed with transmutation runes. The fuel tank gave the Warwagon a range of 250km with the ability to refill with anything. The engine it powered was capable of 50kph on roads, and an effective safe speed of 20kph off road.
The Warwagon carried a crew of three. A commander, usually a lieutenant, who served as navigator, and communications, as well as a driver and gunner. During combat the commander usually maned the secondary weapon, a multi barrel 10 gauge auto shotgun while the driver served as feeder for the gunner on the 30mm cannon.
The primary purpose of the Warwagon, however, was the deployment of infantry into hostile situations. As a result, most of the vehicle was given over to a troop compartment which could carry a fully armed squad of 15, or full equipment for a platoon.
After decommissioning Brightmantle began selling the BPC 1 to anyone who wanted one. As a result it became one of the most common personnel carriers of all time, and was used for everything from carrying troops to remote construction workers and equipment. Some still find use today in the hands of nomads on The Vein
